Third Eye is Almost Here!

I'm thrilled to announce that after a long wait, the Eleventh Book of the King’s Watch has been submitted Amazon for pre-order. Publication date is Friday 4th August 2023. You will get another email soon with Amazon Store links and an outline of the book.

I have written a lot about why this book has taken so long, and what this means for the Watch. Now that the wait is over, I can confirm that the next book will be Three Ring Circus - A Fairy Story.

More on that in a moment, I just wanted to mention this first:

There will be a Facebook Live Event on Thursday 3rd August at 20:00 UK Time. I will be saying more about the book and reading an extract. There will also be time to answer any questions.

There will be an email close to publication date with details of the paperback, because Amazon won’t let me do pre-orders for p/backs, and once it’s live, there’s no going back.

Because there have been so many delays with 3i, I couldn’t take the risk of booking Audiofactory and Ciaran for the audiobook, so that process has only just begun. Sorry, Audiophiles, but the audiobook won’t be out until late Autumn.

So what’s all this about Three Ring Circus I hear you ask?

I’ve said before that I have done two fundamental re-writes of 3i before arriving at the shape of the book I wanted to produce, and one of those decisions meant restricting Third Eye to describing the Wedding from the male perspective – Conrad’s and Tom Morton’s. There is a lot more than the Wedding going on in the book, and further details will be in the next email.

In Three Ring Circus, we will get to see and hear the other side of the story – and more.

If you’ve ever wondered exactly what the Fae get up to in their nests, 3RC will give you a unique insight. In the next book, we will follow the lifecycle of a Fae from egg to Squire and see how It becomes She and get some idea of what Ink actually means, and how you organise your memories when you can live for hundreds of years.

And that’s just for starters. We also get a behind-the-scenes perspective on the Hen Party and what happens in Elvenham Grange when all the mortals go to the church for the wedding.

The good news is that a fair chunk of 3RC has already been written – and if the gods are willing, you won’t be waiting eighteen months to read it!
